Comet C/2025 K1 ATLAS Fragmentation: New Images and Animation from Virtual Telescope (2026)

Witness the stunning evolution of Comet C/2025 K1 ATLAS! On November 19, 2025, our dedicated team captured a remarkable image of its fragmented nucleus, despite challenging atmospheric conditions. This image is a result of a sigma-clipping technique, combining 14 unfiltered 60-second exposures taken remotely with the Celestron C14+ Paramount ME+SBIG ST-10XME telescope. While the transparency was excellent, the unstable air unfortunately impacted the image resolution. But that's not all! We've also updated our animation, showcasing the comet's inner coma evolution from November 11th to the 19th. Stay tuned as we continue to monitor this fascinating celestial body every clear night. For those eager to support our work, we invite you to join our community and gain exclusive access to high-quality images, including the record-breaking 2018 total lunar eclipse above the Colosseum. Together, let's explore the wonders of the solar system!
