It wasn't until 2019 that the state finally took decisive action, with the Legislature's budget committee approving funds for new passenger trains. The new Siemens Venture trainset, while similar to the current coaches, introduces a new type of cab-coach to the Midwest. These cab-coaches, with their conductor space and 56 seats, will replace the outdated F-40 cab cars, offering a much-needed upgrade.
